Scalable Vector Graphics

SVG is a new web standard (it started appearing in 2001 and now, in 2002, seems to have reached critical mass levels) that addresses the problem of Structured Vector Graphics. Here are some useful links:

Mozilla is now (in their beta builds in July 03) starting to include native support for SVG
The GIMP is now supporting SVG
MicroSoft's Sparkle is WVG which looks like its an extension of SVG
A Slashdot artical about how SVG is starting to enter the Linux desktop
Macromedia appears to be adding support for SVG, (SVG Tiny to be precise) but is it just a cunning marketing ploy?
In May'05 SVG started to be included with the nightly builds of FireFox 1.1, so its possible that it will be a standard part of v1.1 when it is released.
